Workplace Safety Update. On August 4, 2020, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released updated Guidance for Dental Settings. As part of an ongoing effort to protect dental hygienists, the dental team and patients, the ADHA Task Force on Return to Work has reviewed the update and revised its Interim Guidance on Returning to Work.
While many of the original points remain the same, there are some important changes. The updates cover a new definition of fever, use of protective eyewear and N95 respirators, and additional protocols on physical distancing and exposure.
